Category Strategy & Insights Manager

Your tasks and responsibilities

A. Market Insights

- Leading the insight generation on behalf of category strategy (Including: Relevant and accurate reporting. Pro-actively delivering insight led business opportunities. Managing relationships with data providers and re-defining and coding clean-up of all database definitions) Details - Monthly Market and Brand Performance Reviews / Competitor & Market Analysis / Support Category Vision development (Global / Local) / Embed Category Visions with brand and retailers / Brand NPD rationale. Interactions - ABP Process – Market Insight delivery / Be the Category Vision gatekeeper for Brand with Sales / Category vision training / Data training and usability / Ad hoc research and projects
B. Category Strategy & Promotional Strategy Sales Drivers

- Support Marketing to validate & localize global Brand & Category strategies (Develop promotional strategies that are aligned to key sales drivers by category and enhance returns for Bayer and our Customers. Ensure that NPD proposed for 2019 and beyond is aligned to category visions. Lead Straco insight development. Building block development)
C. Category Strategy External

- Lead category power weeks alongside category activation managers. Assist category development managers with sourcing additional insights by customer if needed.
1. Deliver a compelling trade propositions that deliver sustainable support for the company's key brands and plans
2. Turn strategy into action by translating the brand plans into commercial plans , ensuring alignment of retailer promotional plans and consumer activation plans
3. Realize NPD Potential - Creates and develops the brand "selling" story, manage and track the roll out and delivery of targets
4. Develop promotional strategy for brands
5. Development of pack size strategy
6. Owns and presents the key commercial aspects of the brand plan where appropriate, inputs into the commercial aspects of the brand plan
7. Understands relevant gaps and opportunities vs target and owns the coordination of gap fill proposals-escalating where appropriate
8. Considers alternative scenarios and provide recommendations that will allow the business to be flexible and adaptable to changes within the trade


Who you are

Education – University degree level
5+ Years in commercial role with P&L responsibility in FMCG or OTC companies
Experience in both sales and marketing or other commercial functions
Strategic Thinking
